1 oz Silver Coin - 2022 Australian Wombat - Perth Mint
The wisdom of wombats
Did you know that a group of wombats is called a ‘wisdom’? Perfectly built for tunnelling with powerful limbs and claws as well as rodent-like front teeth, these iconic Australian marsupials are the largest burrowing mammals in the world.
Muscular marsupial
The coin portrays a muscular wombat standing on all fours. As well as the inscription ‘WOMBAT’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the reverse includes the coin’s weight, purity and 2022 year-date.
The Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are depicted on the coin’s obverse.
Authentication feature
For additional peace of mind, the coin incorporates an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Detectable under a magnifying glass, it is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited
Presentation & Mintage
Each Australian Wombat 2022 1oz Silver Bullion Coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule. Each product comes with its own individual bullion bag.
No more than 25,000 of these coins will be released. Production will cease when the mintage is fully sold or at the end of 2022, after which The Perth Mint will ‘declare’ the total number made.
